It’s exciting to see how it all unfolded because we started from scratch.
Right after the Grammy’s this year I would say a month later I got tired of hiding out in the house I got cabin fever and I said I have to work, I have to work. So I called the label and Jay Brown and I said “I’m Ready”.
I didn’t want to talk about love because I didn’t really believe in love at that point so I just went the other way…All of these real emotions started to come out, it was really raw.
It’s a really personal album and I wouldn’t have made it any other way.
Do you feel Massive weight lifted off of your chest
I don’t like talking to people about my problems so the only refut to get it off your chst is to vent so this (recording) was theraputic for me.
I’ve always been very guarded and I don’t like people feeling sorry for me.
On why she dropped Russian Roulette first
Well at the time I feel like I wanted emotion. I didn’t just want to put out another dance hit, I wasn’t chasing a hit, I just really wanted a real album.
It’s also one of the songs that’s very close to me.
On who’s she’s spending Christmas downtime with
I want to spend Christmas with my Grandparents.
How she felt after her 20/20 interview
I felt so good, I felt like a whole burden was lifted off my chest. It also helped a lot of young girls around the world.
